I'm thankful for Hummingbirds! There is nothing like sitting quietly in your backyard and watching the hummingbirds fly backwards, sideways, and upside down!! Hummingbirds can even hover in place! Hummingbirds are one of the smallest birds in the world. The Bee hummingbird is the smallest bird in the world.

Hummingbirds can weigh up to 4.5 grams. A nickel weighs about 5 grams.

Hummingbirds can’t walk or hop. They can only use their small legs to perch.

Hummingbird eggs are about the size of a very small jelly bean. The eggs weigh no
