Facts about The Man Faced Stink bug

 Man-faced Stink Bug Facts


Have you ever heard of a Catacanthus incarnatus also known as a Man-faced stink bug? Yeah, me neither until last week! But this bug is really cool! It looks like it has a face on it with hair!! If you have ever seen one you would know just how cool they are! If you are allowed, Google the Man-faced stink bug with your parents/caretaker’s permission. The Man-faced stink bug comes in four different colors, orange, red, yellow, and a cream color. There is not a lot known about the rare Man-faced stink bug. I can tell you this about it though… it is one of the coolest bugs I have ever seen!

Facts about the Man-faced stink bug:

1. The Man-faced stink bug also known as the Catacanthus incarnatus are found in parts of Asia and India.

2. Who likes playing games? If you play games this cool Man-faced bug can also be found in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

3. The Man-faced stink bug has appeared on postage stamps in Vietnam, Thailand, and Singapore.

4. Audubon Butterfly Garden and Insectarium located in New Orleans, Louisiana had some Man-faced stink bugs shipped to them. I’m not sure if the Man-faced stink bugs are still there or not. I read an article about the Man-faced stink bugs arrival that was dated 2017. 5. You can even buy a Man-faced stink bug in a boxed picture frame. Yes, people sell them.

6. Most Man-faced stink bugs are herbivores. They eat mostly plants, fruits, and trees. They may cause a lot of damage to crops and plants.

7. Man-faced stink bugs can grow to a little over an inch long.

Learn facts about Idaho for kids.


Are you ready to learn some cool facts about Idaho? I love learning facts about the different states. I would like to share some of those cool facts with you! I will be posting facts about each of the fifty states in the United States. The states will be done in alphabetical order! Last week we posted facts about Hawaii. This week we are posting cool facts about Idaho. You will learn facts about Idaho's state flag, bird, and many other state facts.

Did you know that Idaho was the 43rd state to join the union? Yes, that is correct. Idaho officially joined the union on July 3, 1890! Idaho is located in the Northwestern region of the United States. Idaho is bordered by five (5) states: Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, and Montana. Idaho is the fourteenth (14th) largest state in the United States. Idaho is one of the biggest states. There are about 1,900,920 people living in Idaho.

Facts about Idaho:

1. A few things Idaho is known for are its potatoes, beautiful mountains, mining gems, and their beautiful wilderness. The nicknames for the state of Idaho are: The Gem State, The Gem of the Mountains, and The Potato State. The Gem State is Idaho’s official nickname. The Gem State became Idaho’s official nickname in 1863/1967. The Idaho state motto is Esto perpetua. The motto means let it be perpetual. The abbreviation for Idaho is ID.

2. The capital of Idaho is Boise. Boise officially became the capital of Idaho on December 24, 1864, long before Idaho joined the union. Boise has a population of around 228,057 people.

3. The Idahoan state bird is the Mountain bluebird. The Mountain bluebird was chosen as the state bird in 1931. The Idahoan male Mountain bluebird is a beautiful blue color with white on its underneath. The female Mountain bluebird is grayish brown in color with blue streaks on its wings.

4. The Idahoan official state flower is the Syringa. The Syringa is a flower that grows on shrubs. The shrubs can be short or tall. The Syringa starts blooming during the late spring months. The Syringa can be found growing all over the state. They are very beautiful flowers!! The Idahoan Syringa became Idaho’s official state flower in 1931.

5. The first flag Idaho used was on March 12, 1907. The flag was modified over the years.

6. Some crops that are grown in Idaho are: barley, corn, mint, onions, potatoes, and wheat.

7. A few places to visit in Idaho are: The Shoshone Falls Park, Sandpoint, and Lava Hot Springs.

8. Some of the animals that live in Idaho the Bison, Coyotes, Grizzly bear, Mountain lions, Rattlesnakes, wildcats, and wolverines.  

9. Idaho can get very hot and very cold depending on the time of year. The hottest temperature ever recorded in Idaho was 118 degrees Fahrenheit in Orofino, on July 28, 1934. The coldest temperature ever recorded in Idaho was -60 degrees (60 degrees below zero) Fahrenheit in Island Park Dam on January 18, 1943.

Facts about Candy Land

Are you ready to learn about some new awesome fun facts? Joey would like to tell you all about the game called Candyland (Candy Land)!! Candyland is a board game. Did you know that Candyland was actually invented by a woman named Eleanor Abbott in 1948? She was in the hospital diagnosed with polio. There was a lot of very sick children in there with polio too. So, Eleanor Abbott who was a retired school teacher decided to make a game for all the children to play. The Candyland (Candy Land) game kept the children busy and gave them something fun to do for hours. Sometime in 1949 Eleanor Abbott sold the game to Milton Bradley. Candyland was one of the first board games that I learned to play as a child. My siblings and I loved playing this game. It entertained us for hours! It makes a great game for families to play together.

Facts about Candyland (Candy Land):

1. Candyland is one of the games that helped make Milton Bradley famous. Candyland is currently made by Hasbro.

2. Adam Sandler was going to star in a film based on the Candyland game. It was going to be a live action film.  The movie has not been made due to legal reasons.

3. Candyland (Candy Land) is one of the top selling board games each year. An average of one million units are sold each year. More than fifty million board games have been sold since its release.

4. As of 2022 Candyland (Candy Land) has been around for 74 years.

5. There are over 20 different theme version of Candyland.

Would you like to learn some facts about the different states. I would like to share some of those cool facts with you! I will be posting facts about each of the fifty states in the United States. The states will be done in alphabetical order! Last week we posted facts about Georgia. This week we are posting cool facts about Hawaii. You will learn facts about Hawaii's state flag, bird, and many other state facts.

Did you know that Hawaii was the 50th state to join the union? Yes, that is right. Hawaii officially joined the union on August 21, 1959! Hawaii consists of 8 major islands. Hawaii is located in the Pacific Ocean. Hawaii is southwest of the United States. Hawaii is the forty-seventh (47th) largest state in the United States. Hawaii is one of the smallest states. There are about 1,455,270 people living in Hawaii.

Facts about Hawaii:

1. A few things Hawaii is known for are its beautiful beaches, volcanoes, aloha shirts, and surfing. The nicknames for the state of Hawaii are: Paradise, The Aloha State, and The Island of Aloha. The Aloha State is Hawaii’s official nickname. The Aloha State became Hawaii’s official nickname in 1959. The Hawaii state motto is Ua Mau ke Ea o ka Aina i ka Pono. The motto means the life of the land is perpetuated in righteousness. The abbreviation for Hawaii is HI.

2. The capital of Hawaii is Honolulu. Honolulu officially became the capital of Hawaii in 1845, long before Hawaii joined the union. Honolulu has a population of around 347,180 people.

3. The Hawaiian state bird is the Nene. The Nene was chosen as the state bird in 1957. The Hawaiian Nene has a black head with an off-white creamy tan color on its chest and underneath with streaks of brown, white and black. The Nene is the world’s rarest goose. I recently posted facts about the Nene Goose.

4. The Hawaiian official state flower is the yellow hibiscus. The yellow hibiscus is a flower that grows on shrubs. The shrubs can be short or tall. The yellow hibiscus starts blooming during the summer months. The yellow hibiscus can be found growing all over the islands. They are very beautiful flowers!! The Hawaiian yellow hibiscus became Hawaii ’s official state flower in 1988.

5. The first flag Hawaii used was on December 29, 1845. The flag was modified over the years. The eight stripes of red, blue, and white on the flag represent the 8 major Hawaiian islands.

6. Some crops that are grown in Hawaii are: avocados, coffee, pineapples, sugar cane, and taro.

7. A few places to visit in Hawaii are: The Valley Isle, Waikiki Beach, and Haleakala National Park. If you love beaches Hawaii has many of them! Here is a list in alphabetical order of the eight (8) major islands that make up the Hawaiian Islands:

  • Hawaii
  • Kahoolawe
  • Kauai
  • Lanai
  • Maui
  • Molokai
  • Niihau
  • Oahu

8. Some of the animals that live in Hawaii are chameleons, dolphins, nene geese, hoary bat, and whales.

9. Hawaii can get very hot and very cold depending on the time of year. The hottest temperature ever recorded in Hawaii was 100 degrees Fahrenheit in Pahala, on April 27, 1931. The coldest temperature ever recorded in Hawaii was 12 degrees Fahrenheit in Mauna Kea Observatory, on May 17, 1979.

Facts about Bumblebees

Are you ready to learn about bumblebees?


Did you know that there are over 240 species of bumblebees? Yes, that is correct! Bumblebees are furry round flying insects! They are larger than honeybees. Bumblebees aren’t always yellow and black in color. Some of the colors that bumblebees can be are white, yellow, black, reddish-orange, and red. Bumblebees prefer to live in a mild climate area. Most bumblebees can be found in the Northern Hemisphere. The Northern Hemisphere is the half of the earth that is above the equator. If you live in North America than you are in the Northern Hemisphere. Some bumblebees can be found living in places in South America too. Part of South America is in the Northern Hemisphere.

Facts about bumblebees:

1. Bumblebees are classified as herbivores. Herbivore means they mostly eat pollen, nectar, and honey. Bumblebees are also important pollinators of plants and crops.

2. Bumblebees live in hives/nests. They build their nests/hives in the ground or in burrows or other empty cavities. Bumblebees live in groups of up to 500 or less. A group of bumblebees is called a colony.

3. The largest species of bumblebee is called the Bombus dahlbomii. The Bombus dahlbomii lives in the Southern part of South America. They can grow to as big as 1.6 inches long. That is a big bumblebee.

4. What is inside of the hive/nest? The queen bumblebee of the hive lays and protects her offspring. The worker bumblebees of the hive forage for food, clean, care for the queen and other bumblebees. The drone bumblebees are male. The drone bumblebees’ main goal is to mate with a queen bumblebee.

5. Male bumblebees cannot sting. The other bumblebees can sting and they can sting more than once because they do not lose their stinger when they sting. Don’t mess with bumblebees or any type of bees. Some people can be allergic to bee stings.

6. Bumblebees can fall asleep in flowers while out foraging for pollen and nectar if the temperature drops to under 55 degrees or lower.

I love learning facts about the different states. I would like to share some of those cool facts with you! I will be posting facts about each of the fifty states in the United States. The states will be done in alphabetical order! Last week we posted facts about Florida. This week we are posting cool facts about Georgia. You will learn facts about Georgia's state flag, bird, and many other state facts.

Did you know that Georgia was the 4th state to join the union? Yes, that is correct. Georgia officially joined the union on January 2, 1788! Georgia is located on the Southeastern part of the United States. The Atlantic Ocean borders Georgia on the east. Georgia is bordered by five (5) states: Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, and Alabama. Georgia is the twenty-second (22nd) largest state in the United States. Georgia is a big state. There are about 10,711,000 people living in Georgia.

Facts about Georgia:

1. A few things Georgia is known for are the array of different climates, beaches, and peaches. The nicknames for the state of Georgia are: The Peach State, The Goober State, and The Empire State. The Peach State is Georgia’s official nickname. The Georgia state motto is Wisdom, Justice, and Moderation. The abbreviation for Georgia is GA.

2. The capital of Georgia is Atlanta. Atlanta officially became the capital of Georgia in 1868. Atlanta has a population of around 498,700 people.

3. The Georgia state bird is the Brown Thrasher. The Brown Thrasher was chosen as the state bird on April 6, 1935. The Georgia Brown Thrasher has brownish colored feathers. The Georgia Brown Thrasher has an off-white creamy color on its chest and underneath area with streaks of dark brown.

4. The Georgia official state flower is the Rosa laevigata also known as the Cherokee rose. The Georgia Rosa laevigata is a type of climbing rose shrub. The flower which is white grows on vines and the vines can climb very high unless it is kept trimmed. The Rasa laevigata starts blooming in spring/summer. They are very beautiful flowers/roses!! The Georgia Rosa laevigata became Georgia ’s official state flower on August 18, 1916.

5. The first flag Georgia used was on October 17, 1879. There may have been one before 1879. The Georgia state flag that is used today became the official flag on May 8, 2003. The flag has changed many times over the years.

6. Some crops that are grown in Georgia are: blueberries, corn, cotton, hay, peaches, peanuts, pecans, and wheat.

7. A few places to visit in Georgia are: the Chattahoochee National Forest, Dinotorium located in Stone Mountain Park, and the Arabia Mountain. If you love beaches Georgia has many of them! Here is a list of some of them:

  • Jekyll Island beach
  • Tybee Island beach
  • Sea Island beach
  • North beach
  • Cumberland National Seashore
  • Simons Island
  • St. Andrew beach

8. Some of the animals that live in Georgia are alligators, armadillos, bears, chipmunks, foxes, white tailed deer, and wild boar.

9. Georgia can get very hot and very cold depending on the time of year. The hottest temperature ever recorded in Georgia was 112 degrees Fahrenheit in Louisville, Georgia on July 24, 1952. The coldest temperature ever recorded in Georgia was -17 degrees Fahrenheit (17 degrees below zero) in Georgia was on January 27, 1940.

Facts about Bumblebee Bats

Have ever heard about the Bumblebee bat, also known as the Kitti’s hog-nosed bat? They are very tiny bats. They are cute, but do not ever approach one. The Bumblebee bat can grow to about 1.3 inches long. The Bumblebee bat can weigh up to about 2 grams. The Bumblebee bat is the smallest of the bat species. It is about the size of a large bumblebee. The bumblebee bat is also one of the world’s smallest mammals.

1. Bumblebee bats are on the endangered species list. There is about 2000 or less of the Bumblebee bats left in the world. That number does not include the Myanmar or the Thailand population of the Bumblebee bats. The Myanmar and Thailand Bumblebee bats are legally protected.

2. The Bumblebee bat can live up to about 10 years or less.

3. The Bumblebee bats are omnivores. They eat mostly insects and spiders. They catch their food by using echolocation. Echolocation is being able to locate insects/objects by using soundwaves that send back echoes that let them know where the insects/objects are.

4. Bumblebee bats are nocturnal. They do most of their insects hunting during the night/dusk hours. They like to fly around the tops of bamboo to catch their insects/food to eat.

5. Bumblebee bats live in groups inside of limestone caves that are near water. A group of Bumblebee bats are called a colony. A baby Bumblebee bat is called a pup.
