Short story alert:

Once upon a time there was a baby iguana named Spikey. He was a Spiny-Tailed iguana. He loved the sun and the heat from the sun that warmed his body. Spikey was a cold-blooded reptile. Spikey loved to crawl on the floor of the forest where he lived, and he blended in well with the rocks. One day Spikey decided to be a little more adventurous, so he climbed up a tree. He spotted a flower off in the distance to eat. He slowly made his way to the flower and ate it all up. He has never climbed up a tree before. When he tried to get back down the tree to the ground, he got a little nervous. He was not sure how to do it at first. He tried to go straight down. He tried to back down the tree, but everything he tried he just couldn’t seem to get down the tree. Spikey’s Mom and Dad were watching their son from the ground. They let him try to get down the tree for a little while by himself. Spikey’s father soon went up the tree and showed his son how to get back down to the ground. Spikey watched his father go up and down the tree and before you know it Spikey made his way back down the tree to the ground. Spikey never forgot the lesson his dad taught him that day. Spikey’s motto is to live and learn! THE END!

Once upon a time there was a very slow turtle named leisure. Leisure liked to take his time enjoying the beauty of the island he lived on. Leisure would slowly find his way to the nearest banana tree. Right there under the shade of the tree there would be bananas for him to eat. As he spotted the bananas under the tree his little eyes got so big. He called it banana heaven! He would devour each banana until he was full. Then he would leave the shade of the tree and get back out in the sun because he is a cold-blooded reptile who needs a lot of heat. He enjoyed the sun shining down on him. Leisure would slowly but surely make his way around the island he lived on in between naps that is. Leisure loved to nap. After each nap he would venture further around the island until he made his way back to his nest where he would nap again! Leisure’s motto is slow and steady wins the race! THE END!

Short story alert:

Once upon a time there was a cute and kind of short cat with big eyes, curly fur, and long ears. Her name was Devon. You see her mother named her Devon because long ago one of their grandparents were born in Devonshire, England. Devon would roam around the barn where they lived. One day Devon was pouncing around in the hay inside the barn and she heard this loud noise. It scared her. The noise sounded like “Naaaayy”. Devon crawled slowly over to where the noise was coming from so she could see what it was. Once she got close enough, she stopped in her tracks and looked up with her big blue eyes and saw this big giant beautiful horse. Devon just sat there looking at the horse and the horse was watching Devon too. The horse finally said, “hello” to Devon and Devon said, “hi there horsie.” Devon would visit the horse every day. Devon would pounce around in the hay and climb the walls of the barn and the horse would watch her play. They became the best of friends. THE END!
